My Little Boys..

I was in Babies R US tonight, picking up a few things.. OK, a LOT of things. to take with me to Haiti next weekend. While I was there I started to  do a "When they come home" gift list. I've done this several times over the years and, I'm a little sad that I have once again missed out on the cute rocking swings and infant "stuff", but glad to see that there are still about three billion things out there that I never knew I needed! it got me thinking though...

c-pooh012My little boys have never seen a crib mobile or Whinnie the Pooh bedding.. actually Whinnie the Pooh anything! I'm going to have to remedy that and so I'm taking my story book with me this time.

My little boys have never seen a whirlpool baby bathtub.. actually I have never seen one of these until today either..and they probably are not going to get to see one anytime soon. They are bathed sitting on a chair in a huge tin tub and will transition to a chair in our bathtub until we can convince them playing in the water is fun!

Love You ForeverMy little boys have never seen animals at the zoo or a dog up close, roosters, cows, chickens, horses..skunks! They have never traveled in a car seat, on a plane or in a stroller! They have never experienced cold weather. My little boys have never crawled on a carpet. They haven't had special baby food from a jar or had a bear play soothing music as they sleep. They have never heard "Goodnight Moon" or "I'll Love You For Always" read to them before bed.. that is going to chance this trip too.

My little boys haven't been to the play park, or seen the ocean, they haven't banged on a piano or seen the ducks fed. They haven't had their little hands placed over their hearts when the anthem plays every day at five o'clock... but they will.

They have never seen a field of green grass or a wood or forest of trees.

But they will.. we pray they will soon, but we hope and know they will eventually.

My little boys haven't done a lot of things but they have been loved and cared for. And one of Wadley's first words was "hallelujah" .. so our boys may not have done a lot of things but they are incredible little people, loved by an amazing set of people, in a country that has won our hearts!
